Cancellation or Change Policy

The Mechanical Ventilation Training Institute (MVTI) is committed to fair, transparent refund practices that balance learner flexibility with the significant administrative, instructional, and logistical resources required to deliver high-quality continuing education.

Refund eligibility varies by course delivery format and is outlined below.

Live, In-Person Workshops

Live workshops require substantial advance planning, including faculty scheduling, travel coordination, equipment preparation, venue arrangements, and instructional materials. Refund timelines are structured to reflect these commitments and to allow sufficient opportunity for another learner to enroll.

Refund eligibility for live, in-person workshops is as follows:

  • More than 30 days prior to the workshop start date:
Full refund of tuition paid, minus a $25 administration fee.

  • 30 days to 14 days prior to the workshop start date:
Fifty percent (50%) refund of tuition paid.

  • Less than 14 days prior to the workshop start date:
    No refund will be issued.

Failure to attend a scheduled workshop without prior written cancellation (“no-show”) is not eligible for a refund.

At the discretion of MVTI, learners who are unable to attend due to documented emergencies may be offered a one-time transfer to a future workshop of equal value, subject to availability.

Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) Courses

VILT courses involve real-time instructor facilitation, scheduled instructional time, and limited enrollment to support engagement and interaction.

Refund eligibility for VILT courses is as follows:

  • More than 7 days prior to the course start date:
    Full refund of tuition paid.

  • 1 to 7 days prior to the course start date:
    50% refund of tuition paid.

  • Less than 24 hours prior to the course start date or no-show:
    No refund will be issued.

Learners who fail to attend or participate in scheduled VILT sessions without prior written notice are not eligible for refunds or credit.

Asynchronous (Self-Paced) Online Courses

Asynchronous courses provide immediate access to proprietary educational content, downloadable materials, and learning resources.

Refund eligibility for asynchronous courses is as follows:

  • Within 7 days of initial registration:
Full refund only if the learner has not:

    • Accessed or started the course,

    • Downloaded any course materials, or

    • Completed the course and received a certificate of completion.

  • After course access has begun, materials have been downloaded, or a certificate has been issued:
    No refund will be granted.

Completion of the course and issuance of a continuing education certificate constitute full delivery of the educational service and permanently voids refund eligibility.

Digital Downloads

No refund will be granted for digital downloadable content.

If you are unhappy with our digital downloads, please contact us at support@mvti.org, and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

Course Cancellations

MVTI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses due to low enrollment, instructor unavailability, technical disruptions, or other circumstances beyond the organization’s control.

In the event of cancellation by MVTI, registered learners will be offered one of the following options:

  • Full refund, or

  • Transfer to a future course or workshop of equal value, or

  • Credit toward another MVTI educational offering

Processing of Refunds

Approved refunds are processed using the original method of payment whenever possible and are typically completed within 7–10 business days of approval.

Requests for refunds or rescheduling must be submitted in writing to admin@mvti.org. Approved refunds are typically processed within 7–10 business days.

Policy Acknowledgement

By registering for any MVTI educational activity, learners acknowledge and agree to the refund and cancellation policies outlined above.

Financial Responsibility

Tuition does not include optional materials, third-party exam fees (if applicable), or travel/lodging for in-person workshops. The student is solely responsible for these additional costs unless otherwise specified in writing.

All questions about this policy should be emailed to support@mvti.org.
